An excellent development, as long as it makes healthcare better and more efficient. Rockmed focuses on growth and expansion in order to be able to optimally serve the changing market. That way, we protect our interests and those of our suppliers. And we are doing our utmost to remain the largest independent ophthalmic player in the Benelux.
Rockmed is an independent family business, which you can tell by the way we work. We have a professional organisation, the lines of communication are short, our team of about 30 loyal employees are strongly motivated and we approach things in a typically pleasant Brabant manner. We cherish this good-natured culture, which is noticeably appreciated by customers and employees alike.
If you want to push boundaries, you must constantly look ahead and explore new chances and opportunities. As such, innovation is an important pillar of our organisation. We have a large and valuable international network of leading manufacturers and suppliers. We also travel the world to visit trade fairs, conferences and symposiums to keep our knowledge up to date and discover the latest innovations.
We want to continue to learn from and with each other. For instance by organising wet labs where assistant physicians can gain experience with surgery, lenses and eye laser equipment. We create connections between ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians and manufacturers to ensure that knowledge and cooperation are shared. At our symposiums, we give doctors on-the-job training and train OR assistants.
As Rockmed, we like to make a concrete CSR contribution by reducing international differences in eye care. In Zambia, we have set up a complete eye clinic with the Dutch doctor Samuel Verkerk. In Suriname, we have installed equipment and trained people in the Mungra Medical Center. And in South Africa and Asia, we are involved in various rewarding eye initiatives.
